Summary

"A Cadet's Honor: Mark Mallory's Heroism" by Upton Sinclair is a story set in West Point where young Mark Mallory, a cadet, faces tough trials that put his honor at risk. Living as a cadet is hard with hazing and rivalry, and Mark's journey shows strong themes of courage, truth, and loyalty all set in a military environment. The book starts with a big meeting where Mark is accused of not following orders, and the older cadets plan to punish him. But Mark is firm, ready to prove himself and protect his good name, even if everyone is against him. The book shows different relationships between Mark and his friends, and also with older cadets who cause problems, crafting a tale of conflict with instances of heroism, focusing on how hard it is to maintain your principles when things get really difficult.
