Summary

"Worlds of the Imperium" by Keith Laumer is a science fiction book that tells the story of Brion Bayard, who is pulled into an alternate reality and learns he has a double who is a powerful and evil leader. Brion gets a mission to take his double's place and stop him, but he struggles with what's right and wrong as he learns more about this new world. The story starts with Brion in a strange version of Stockholm, realizing someone is watching him. Soon, he's taken away and meets Captain Winter, who tells him about other realities and why Brion is important. Brion must make a big decision that changes everything, putting him in a tricky game of politics and forcing him to question who he is and what he believes in as he navigates this universe.

About the Author

John Keith Laumer was an American science fiction author. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, he was an officer in the United States Air Force and a diplomat in the United States Foreign Service. His older brother March Laumer was also a writer, known for his adult reinterpretations of the Land of Oz. Frank Laumer, their youngest brother, is a historian and writer.
