Summary

"A Mysterious Disappearance" by Louis Tracy is a thrilling mystery story, written in the early 1900s and filled with intrigue. When Lady Alice Dyke vanishes on a trip to see her sister, her husband, Sir Charles Dyke, becomes very worried, setting off a long investigation. Along for the investigation are Claude Bruce, a lawyer, and Inspector White, a detective. We meet Lady Dyke in London as she gets on a train to Richmond. Later, her husband finds she never arrives, leading to an investigation. The story explores Lady Dyke's last movements and the strange things happening. The family and the police work together to find out where she has gone, promising lots of twists and turns.

About the Author

Louis Tracy (1863–1928) was a British journalist, and prolific writer of fiction. He used the pseudonyms Gordon Holmes and Robert Fraser, which were at times shared with M. P. Shiel, a collaborator from the start of the twentieth century.
