Summary

"’Possum’" by Mary Grant Bruce is a story about the Macleod family adapting to a new life in the Australian countryside, centered on young Garth’s health. The book begins with Tom and Aileen Macleod deciding to leave their easy city life after Dr. Metcalf suggests a rural setting could help Garth's illness. Aileen is worried about leaving the city, but they decide to move, trading their elegant, flower-filled home for a messy, new place. This big change brings both excitement and worry as they start their adventure in the country.
